OC in the making - "Around The Corner"

We've been practicing this OC (Original Composition) of ours for sometime now - and it still isn't perfect. We still edit some parts, the structure, the sequence - and the final product is still not there ... yet.

This song has been penned and composed by Zoe and in the video you see Zoe (on lead/vox), Sovit (on bass) and me (on drums with a potbelly!). This is because we've been practising for "Freedom Jam 2008" and Anant and Vineet are likely to miss it - that is why Sovit has taken up the bass duties only for FJ'08.

This video is of a song in the making (with all copyrights belonging to Green Room Boxes!). It was shot using my phone camera (N81, 2MP camera) while we were practicing at Unwind Center, Koramangala. Many thanks to Ashwik, Sovit's friend for the videography.

The promise to come out with a better, polished song is still there. Till then, enjoy!

Around The Corner - Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Around the corner I've a friend
In this great city that has no ends
Yet the days go by and weeks rush on
And before I knew it, a year is gone

[Bridge/Chorus]
I've never seen my old friend's face
Life is a swift and terrible race

[Verse 2]
He knows I like him just as well
As in the days when I rang his bell
He rang me but we were younger then
Now we are all busy and tired men

[Chorus/bridge]
Tired of trying to make a name
Tired of playing this foolish game

[Verse 3]
Around the corner, yet miles away
Here's a telegram.. "Sire, Jim died today"

[Chorus]
And that's what we deserve in the end
Around the corner a vanished friend
